UnTardis
UnTardis is a simple application specifically for Iyonix users to fix an unpleasant consequence of the real-time clock bug that was discovered at the beginning of 2010.
Users who did not install a clock fixer immediately (which probably means everyone since the bug was unknown until its effects were observed) may well have files scattered around their system with an incorrect datestamp - specifically the stamp will show the year as 2012 instead of 2010. This can cause nasty effects in some situations. For example, backup software which relies on accurate datestamps to decide what to back up will not work correctly. Compilers will falter too, as they may not be able to determine which source files need to be re-compiled.
UnTardis was written to address this problem. It will scan a hard drive or a specified directory, including all sub-directories, check the dates and restore the year to 2010 if it finds any that are dated 2012. It multi-tasks while working so you can carry on using your computer normally while it goes about its business. It can also open archives when it finds them and check all the files within.
This application is only relevant to Iyonix computers - other machines running RISC OS do not appear to suffer from the bug. So if you do not use an Iyonix this application will be of no use to you.
